Ten people were injured in a shooting in the late hours of New Year's Eve in the Queens borough of New York City, the New York Police Department said in a press conference on Thursday.

The attack took place outside a club hosting a private party on Wednesday evening local time. Six of the injured were women and the others were men. Police said they were hopeful that all of them would recover.

The New York Police Department said three to four people opened fire on a crowd gathered outside the club. Social media users expressed their condolences and shared photos of the incident. Police have ruled out the possibility of it being a terrorist attack.

The New York City shooting came hours after two other violent attacks in the United States on New Year's Day. In the first incident, a man drove a truck into a crowd celebrating New Year's Eve in New Orleans, killing 15 people. In the second incident, a Tesla truck exploded outside the Trump Hotel in Las Vegas, killing one person and injuring seven others.

US officials are trying to identify those involved in these incidents. They are also investigating whether the incidents are linked to terrorist activities.
